A Long Wait

My baby is showing no signs of wanting to exit the comfy home that is my uterus (I must create a particularly nice little nest for my babes because they have all been reluctant to make the separation).

So I am knitting and waiting.

Big sigh.

Please see the comment section to leave me advice on how to ripen one's cervix or any other labor-inducing tactics you have found helpful. Thank you kindly.

As unappealing as this may sound being oh-so-very-pregnant, sex really does help. It definitely wasn't pretty when I tried it, but I was desperate to get that baby on it's way - and I think it actually helped!

I cleaned out the fridge and in the process my water broke. A friend climbed stairs and started her labor. A third went out for burgers, thought she had food poising and had her baby the next day. Hope he comes soon!

Other than my previu recommendation to sit and knit on the excercise ball for multiple hours a day, I have also heard that scrubbing the floor by hand helps....none of this sounds like fun, does it?

Eggplant! I kid you not... there is a restaurant in Atlanta that guarantees you will go into labor within 48 hours of eating their eggplant casserole, as long as you are on or past your due date. Worked for me... twice! :-) And it was always hilarious to see 3 or 4 other pregnant women in there, eating the same thing.

Castor oil. I was 10 days late and chickened out of doing it, but that's the secret, I hear.
